My only notable trade on Friday was a midday straddle in PLCE that I bought for .75 and flipped for $1.15. I also had a few of my VZIO covered call positions called away, far from zingers but solid returns when annualized. The returns far exceed the potential return of plainly holding VZIO long, especially when the position is held in a tax-advantaged account. Also, the HA Jan '25 1x3 $5/$3 put ratio I had put on back in February for around a .10 credit has been fully realized with the HA deal being consummated last week. I liked that spread if the deal fell apart, I think HA would have landed around $5 and the IV on the short $3's would have collapsed.
I spent a portion of my weekend reconciling my trade log with my trades placed, turns out I'm far ahead of where I thought I was.. this is largely due to me logging my losers, but almost never my winners. This boosted my YTD gains by 38%.. which I suppose makes sense given where my options account is at.
