The big story this AM is ABBV $21b deal for PCYC, which is about 22% of ABBV's market cap of $96B. PCYC is trading 10% higher in the pre-mkt while ABBV is down 5% on big volume.

Joy Global JOY, -8.14%  reported fiscal first-quarter profits that were weaker than expected and said it was cutting its profit guidance a drop in sales.

Costco Wholesale COST, +1.92% reported a better-than-expected fiscal second-quarter profit, helped by lower fuel prices and tax benefits. Earlier in the week, the nation’s second-largest retailer announced an exclusive credit-card agreement with Citigroup and Visa, replacing one pact canceled with American Express next year.
